LAS VEGAS (AP) — A Nevada jury resumes deliberating Wednesday whether a Saudi Arabian air force sergeant is guilty of raping a 13-year-old boy at a Las Vegas Strip hotel last New Year's Eve.
Jurors spent 90 minutes mulling the case Tuesday after hearing closing arguments in the case of 24-year-old Mazen Alotaibi (MAH'-zen ah-loh-TAH'-bee).
Alotaibi didn't testify. But his lawyer maintains the boy wanted marijuana or money early Dec. 31 at the Circus Circus hotel, and consented to sex.
State law says the boy's too young to give consent.
Prosecutors say Alotaibi wanted sex and wouldn't take no for an answer.
Defense attorney Don Chairez (shar-EHZ') says Alotaibi was too tired and drunk after staying up all night drinking at a strip club to know if he was doing anything wrong.
