COSTA MESA, Calif. (AP) — Orange County prosecutors say a father has been charged with three felonies after he took a BB gun and threatened to kill high school staffers who tried to stop him from leaving with his daughter.
The Los Angeles Times reports 35-year-old Michael McHugh and has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon, criminal threats and two other felonies.
McHugh went to Estancia High School despite a Nov. 2010 restraining order to stay at least 100 yards away from the girl and her family.
The Costa Mesa resident was charged with a misdemeanor for allegedly violating the court order.
McHugh is being held on $100,000 bail.
