HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) — Henderson police say a man fatally shot his wife and then killed himself in an apparent overdose.

Henderson police spokeswoman Nicole Johnson says in a news release that the apparent murder-suicide happened Saturday. She says officers found the bodies of the 39-year-old woman and the 44-year-old man in the home where the couple lived alone. Their names haven't been released.

Johnson says a passer-by called 911 around 11 a.m. after spotting the man's daughter crying outside.

The daughter told responding officers that she went to the home after finding her father's vehicle keys and money at her house. The daughter, whose age was not released, discovered her father dead.

Johnson says Henderson police haven't responded to any domestic violence issues at the home in the past.
