LAS VEGAS (AP) — Las Vegas police say the man accused of robbing a Bellagio casino cashier of $43,500 at gunpoint allegedly paid prostitutes at another hotel near the Strip the following night with money still bound in Bellagio wrappers.
Detectives still haven't positively identified the suspect, but they say he spent about $10,000 on a high-end shopping spree after he claims he found a bag filled with cash in the Bellagio parking lot.
Police says investigators were tipped off by a tourist who reported the suspect paid the tourist $300 to rent him a room at the Hard Rock Hotel.
Police later detained four prostitutes who left the room, two carrying wads of cash with Bellagio labels.
The suspect was being held Tuesday without bail on suspicion of battery, grand larceny, burglary and robbery with a deadly weapon.
