LOS ANGELES (AP) — Los Angeles police say a 2-year-old girl was abducted by her parents during a custody hearing in Superior Court.

The Los Angeles Times reports the grandmother of Mariah Salguero was granted temporary custody of the child at the court proceeding Wednesday morning.

Shortly afterward the child's parents took the girl out of the courtroom, according to authorities.

Police say they may be heading to Arizona.

The father was identified by police as 25-year-old Christopher Salguero. The mother is Rosa Chavez.

Anyone with information is asked to call LAPD detectives.
