RICHMOND, Ind. (AP) — Police in eastern Indiana say they haven't figured why a college student was fatally hit by a train and two others badly hurt a week ago.

Richmond police Lt. Bryan Ervin says investigators haven't yet been able to talk with the two survivors since they were hit early Nov. 9 near a group of nightclubs.

Twenty-one-year-old Therese Heymann of Burlingame, Calif., was killed, while fellow Earlham College students Lenore Edwards of St. Louis and Graham Nissen of Columbus, Ind., were injured. Edwards has been hospitalized in critical condition, while Ervin says Nissen needs significant surgeries.

Ervin tells the Palladium-Item (http://pinews.co/TNlEmz ) no wrongdoing is suspected and that the students were just too close to the tracks. Investigators are waiting to view the train's video and for results of toxicology tests.
