CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — State prison officials say investigations are under way into the deaths of two inmates at separate Nevada prisons over the weekend.

They say 38-year-old Winston Kelly died after being found unresponsive late Saturday morning in his single cell at Ely State Prison, while 55-year-old John Biasi was found dead in his single cell late Friday afternoon at High Desert State Prison in southern Nevada.

Officials provided no immediate details about the cause of death in either case.

In 2008, Kelly was sentenced to life in prison for killing a Reno-area man who gave him a ride because he wanted to steal the engine out of the victim's truck.

Biasi was serving 10 to 25 years in prison for a second-degree murder out of Clark County.
