Nevada (MyNews4.com & KRNV) – On the roads today a new law goes into effect. "Proceed on Red," allows motorcycles, bicycles and scooters to go through red lights at intersections.
According to NHP, some traffic signals use sensors to detect metal. Motorcycles and scooters aren't heavy enough to trip the sensors, so riders often get stuck waiting at red lights. The new law still requires motorcyles to stop at a light, and only proceed through a red if it is safe.
