RENO, Nev. (AP) — The Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe has been awarded a $2.9 million federal grant to relocate an intersection and build secondary access roads on tribal lands.
The grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation is part of $474 million being awarded this year from the Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery program.
Funding for the Pyramid Lake Tribe, located north of Reno, is one of 52 projects in 37 states that were announced Thursday by Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx.
The Pyramid Lake Tribe is one of four tribal governments to receive funding this year.
This year marks the fifth round of the grants, which combined have totaled more than $3.6 billion for 270 projects.
