RENO, Nev. (AP) — Reno police are investigating a rash of vehicle burglaries occurring in the parking lots of area health clubs.
At least 16 burglaries have been reported recently, and officers say more have likely gone unreported.
Thieves are targeting purses and other valuables left in vehicles.
Police are warning people to park in well-lit areas and to make sure their vehicles are locked and the windows rolled up. Any valuables should be left at home or secured in the trunk beforehand.
Officers have three different descriptions of possible vehicles used by suspects — a Dodge Charger, a purple van, and a green or teal newer model Toyota.
