SAN DIEGO (AP) — An 82-year-old woman has pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter in the shooting of a roommate in her San Diego trailer park home.

City News Service says Barbara Ruth Brand entered the plea Tuesday and faces up to 10 years in state prison when she's sentenced on Feb. 15.

Deputy District Attorney Amy Maund says Brand shot 57-year-old Paul Slysh in the back, side and front torso area on July 12.

Brand then called police and told arriving officers she opened fire because she was angry with the victim, who died two days later.

The prosecutor says the two had been off-and-on roommates for several years.
