SAN DIEGO (AP) — San Diego police have killed a wanted parolee — the third officer-involved shooting in a week.

Officer surrounded an apartment complex in the College area Thursday morning after receiving word that two wanted parolees were there and at least one had a gun.

Police say that after several hours, the men fled. One was quickly cornered. Police say he was shot after refusing to show his hands and reaching into his pockets. His name wasn't released.

The second man was tackled after an hours-long neighborhood search.

Last weekend, police killed a man who drove toward them in a stolen car and wounded a domestic violence suspect who allegedly pointed a gun at officers in a movie theater. Tom Billodeaux of Escondido has pleaded not guilty to assault and other charges.
