LAS VEGAS (AP) — Casino mogul Sheldon Adelson is scheduled to speak to students at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas about the challenges of leadership.
The CEO of Las Vegas Sands will also be joined at the Monday afternoon event by Michael Leven, the company's president and chief operating officer.
Sands owns the Venetian and Palazzo casinos and the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas, and operates even larger casinos in the lucrative Chinese gambling enclave of Macau.
The company recently donated $7 million to UNLV's Harrah Hotel College as part of its Sands Cares corporate philanthropy project. The money will be applied toward a $50 million building dubbed Hospitality Hall and a proposed Center for International Hospitality and Gaming Education.
Forbes ranks Adelson the ninth richest person in the world.
