RENO, Nev. ( & KRNV) -- The ribbon has now been cut and there is officially a new way to get down to southern Nevada.

This morning, Silver State Trailways announced their new intercity, fixed-route bus service between Doyle, Calif. and Las Vegas.

The line run will have stops in numerous Nevada cities, including Reno, Sparks, Carson City, Fallon, Hawthorne, Tonopah, Beatty, and Pahrump before finishing in Las Vegas.

Company officials say these areas are under-served by public transportation and the new route will offer a significant and much-needed boost.

"We are extremely excited about opening up this service. [It has] been about a year or so in the making, we've worked with NDOT, [who] has been extremely helpful in getting this service going, as well as Greyhound... and we are ready to go," says Tony Fiorini, owner of Silver State Trailways.
