PALMDALE, Calif. (AP) — A 16-year-old Southern California girl was killed while sleeping in her bed after an alleged drunken driver crashed his SUV into her home.
City News Service reports that 20-year-old Roberto Rodriguez of Palmdale allegedly crashed his Nissan Pathfinder into the corner of the home at 3:50 a.m. Sunday.
Sheriff's Lt. Ken Wright says when deputies arrived they found the SUV embedded in the building and the girl dead.
Rodriguez was the only person in the SUV. He has been booked on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department inmate locator Rodriguez is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.
