MALIBU, Calif. (AP) — A small earthquake has jiggled the coast northwest of Malibu.
The Southern California Seismic Network says the 10:08 a.m. Thursday temblor had a preliminary magnitude of 3.2 and was centered a mile northwest of Leo Carrillo State Beach. The quake occurred at a depth of 5 miles.
The area is largely undeveloped wilderness, with steep slopes and canyons of the Santa Monica Mountains rising from the coast highway.
