Reno, Nev. (Regional Transportation Commission of Washoe County News Release) - Beginning today, Wednesday, March 20 the bike and pedestrian path along the Truckee River from Spice Island Dr. (Cottonwood Park) east to Larkin Circle will be closed to bicycle and pedestrian traffic.
The path on Sparks Blvd. from Big Fish Drive (Legends Mall) south to Greg St. will also be closed. The path will remain closed until mid-summer 2013. Pedestrians will need to use an alternate route.
The closure is needed for the safety of pedestrians and construction crews as work continues on the RTC’s SouthEast Connector tor Project. Construction crews will be mobilizing heavy equipment and working in the area to build the bridge over the Truckee River.
