SPARKS, Nev. (AP) — A motorcyclist has died from injuries he suffered in a hit-and-run accident in Sparks on the Fourth of July.

The Nevada Highway Patrol says 51-year-old Kenneth Stewart of Sparks succumbed to his injuries at a Reno hospital on Sunday.

The patrol says he collided with a Ford pickup truck that turned into the path of his 2003 Harley Davidson on Pyramid Way at Tyler Way.

Investigators say the truck driver, 49-year-old Mark Kesner of Sparks, fled the scene but left his cellphone behind so police were able to track him down later that day. He was booked into the Washoe County on suspicion of felony hit and run.
