STOCKTON, Calif. (AP) — Central California police have identified a suspect thought responsible for killing two and wounding three others in an apparent drive-by shooting.
Stockton Police Department spokesman Joe Silva said Thursday that investigators are searching for a 20-year-old Sergio Hernandez in connection with the Sunday night shooting in that city.
Silva said a gunman walked toward a house where a birthday party was being held outside and opened fire into a crowd of about 15 to 20 people, including several children. The gunman fled a light-colored vehicle.
Police say Juan "Junior" Sarrarez and his girlfriend Reyna Perez were both killed in the shooting. The deaths were Stockton's fourth and fifth homicides of the year.
