SANTA PAULA, Calif. (AP) — A Southern California woman sitting in front of her house was killed by a stray bullet from a fight on her street.

Thirty-nine-year-old Irma Ramos tells the Ventura County Star that her twin sister was sitting under her carport having a cigarette on Saturday when the bullet hit her on the side of her neck. Police corroborated Ramos's account. The victim's name has not been released.

Santa Paula police Lt. Ish Cordero says an argument broke out, then a car pulled up and gunfire was exchanged. Cordero says multiple people were involved in the shooting, and police are looking for at least two suspects, but no arrests have been made.

Ramos says her family has lived on the property for 40 years, but the neighborhood has become increasingly unsafe.
