VALLEJO, Calif. (AP) — Traffic is shut down in both directions on Highway 37 in Vallejo after a big rig fell off a ramp and caught fire.

The California Highway Patrol says two people were injured in the accident Thursday morning, and the highway is closed between Highway 80 and Highway 121.

Officials say the highway could remain blocked for several hours.

Sonoma County fire officials said the rig fell into a field and immediately caught fire, causing multiple explosions. The cause of the accident is not known, but there did not appear to be ice on the roadway.

The truck's driver was taken to the hospital.
