LOS ANGELES (AP) — A 21-year-old student at the University of California, Los Angeles, has been arrested for investigation of false imprisonment.

UC police spokeswoman Nancy Greenstein says Omar Arce was taken into custody Wednesday following a months-long investigation.

Greenstein says the probe was launched when a female student reported she was a victim of sexual battery.

Arce is commissioner of the Undergraduate Students Association Council Community Service, according to a statement from the organization.

He is being held on $50,000 bail and is expected to make his first court appearance Friday.
