ISLA VISTA, Calif. (AP) — Santa Barbara County sheriff's officials have arrested a University of California student on suspicion of attempted murder after he allegedly stabbed one victim and gave another a head injury.

Sgt. Mark Williams says deputies and university police responded to a report of a fight at about 4 a.m. Sunday at a home near campus, where witnesses identified UCSB student Peter Cho as the attacker.

Williams says one victim was stabbed about six times and is in stable condition after receiving treatment at Cottage Hospital.

Another victim suffered blunt force trauma to the head and was treated and released at the scene.

Cho was located at a nearby home and arrested. The knife was also found at the residence.

Cho's bail has been set at $500,000.
