FERNLEY, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) – Two teens are dead after being found unresponsive in a parked motor vehicle.

According to Lyon County deputies, Lyon County patrol deputies and the North Lyon County Fire Protection District responded to the 200 block of Sandia Drive in Fernley for a report of two unresponsive 16-year-olds. The call happened just before midnight Tuesday.

The parents of the 16-year-old female found the teens and attempted CPR, but were unsuccessful. Once emergency responders arrived on scene, it was determined that both the male and female occupants were deceased.

Detective Lieutenant J. L. Pattison said that suicide and foul play have been ruled out, and it is being investigated as a tragic accident. Preliminary indications are that carbon monoxide poisoning from the running vehicle resulted in their deaths. Autopsies and toxicology will be performed to determine exact cause of death.

RIP AR AND ZD you both will be missed so very much. You were fixtures in the lives of my daughters. Everybody loved you. My heart goes out to your families. Never should such innocence be lost at such a tender age! Truly, truly a horrific tragedy.
