LAS VEGAS (AP) — Las Vegas police say a custody dispute may be behind a series of violent confrontations that left two people dead.

Police say they were called to Ocean Shores Way at about 5 p.m. Monday. They say a man had crashed his vehicle into a woman's vehicle, then broke her car window and stabbed her multiple times before fleeing.

The woman was taken to University Medical Center, where she later died.

Police say the suspect then headed to North Las Vegas, where he attempted to break into a home and was shot by the owner.

Authorities say he then stabbed himself and later died.

The identities of the people involved have not yet been released. It's not clear if the stabbing suspect and the homeowner knew each other.
