LAS VEGAS (AP) — Witnesses tell police a 6-year-old boy who was injured by a school bus in Las Vegas was throwing rocks at cars, darting into traffic, and ran into the side of bus.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports the boy suffered a serious leg injury in the 6:40 a.m. Monday accident on Las Vegas Boulevard North near Cheyenne Avenue

A Clark County School District spokeswoman says the boy attends Manch Elementary School.

The bus driver is cooperating, and is on leave until the investigation is complete

The collision was the second involving a school bus and child this year.

Eleven-year-old Kaylee Derks was killed March 16 after being struck by a school bus at Ann Road near U.S. Highway 95.

Driver Leslie Rice was found not at fault in that case.
