SAN CLEMENTE, Calif. (AP) — An Orange County woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with a hit-and-run crash killed a 76-year-old grandmother and injured her grandson more than a year ago.

Sheriff's officials say 46-year-old Kelly Michelle Wolfe was taken into custody Tuesday at her Dana Point home.

She is suspected of driving a white Volkswagen van that struck Marthan Demchuk and her 13-year-old grandson as they walked in San Clemente on the Fourth of July in 2013.

Demchuk was pronounced dead at the scene. Her grandson suffered minor injuries.

Officials said a witness followed the van after the crash.

An arrest warrant was issued for Wolfe this week on suspicion of multiple felony charges, including second-degree murder, hit-and-run injury and driving under the influence.

The Orange County Register reports bail was set at $1 million.
