LAS VEGAS (AP) — A 21-year-old Arizona woman faces an attempted murder charge and a man identified as her boyfriend faces two felonies after a Christmas week shooting left a motorist wounded on the Las Vegas Strip.

A court clerk said Thursday that Brittanie Merritt-Burwell and Joshua Youngblood are due to face a judge Friday in the Dec. 23 shooting of a man in a vehicle on Las Vegas Boulevard near the Hawaiian Marketplace.

Merritt-Burwell and Youngblood were arrested Monday at a fast-food restaurant when they got out of a white Chevrolet Impala with Arizona license plates in which police say they fled after the shooting.

Merritt-Burwell told detectives she hit the motorist with her gun after she walked up to his vehicle after a traffic dispute and he tried to pull her inside.
