LAS VEGAS (AP) — A would-be intruder was killed, two other people were hurt and police are looking for at least three suspects who ran away after an exchange of gunfire during a botched break-in at a northwest Las Vegas apartment.
Police Lt. Ray Steiber says a man and woman in the apartment were hurt, but not by gunfire, and an infant girl escaped injury in the shooting a little after 10 a.m. Monday at the residence off Rainbow Boulevard near Cheyenne Avenue.
Steiber says multiple shots were fired after at least one person in the apartment opened fire and at least one person in the group at the door shot back.
A motive for the attempted break-in wasn't immediately determined.
Steiber says the suspects abandoned a silver car at the shooting scene.
