TORRANCE, Calif. (AP) — Southern California authorities say three people have died in a double murder-suicide shooting at a high-rise senior citizen complex in Torrance.

Police Sgt. Robert Watt tells City News Service that an elderly man fatally shot a man and a woman and then himself shortly after noon Tuesday at Golden West Towers.

Their names have not been released and the motive is unknown.

According to the city of Torrance's website, Golden West Towers is a 180-unit, privately owned and operated facility. The low and moderate income housing facility is for seniors who can live independently.
