Chapel Hill, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - North Carolina coach Larry Fedora has suspended four defensive players one game apiece for violating team policy.

Sophomores Des Lawrence and Brian Walker, redshirt freshman Donnie Miles and freshman M.J. Stewart will miss the No. 23 Tar Heels' season-opener against Liberty on Saturday.

"We hold our players accountable for their actions at all times," Fedora said in a statement. "These players did not meet the high expectations we have for them as members of our program and have been disciplined accordingly. They will not play on Saturday or be on the sideline with their teammates."

Fedora made the announcement one day after Yahoo Sports reported the school was investigating an alleged hazing incident that left a freshman walk-on receiver with a concussion.
