SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Ventura County authorities say five people suffered minor injuries when a boat overturned amid high winds on Lake Piru.
The Ventura County Star says 15 people, including seven children and two infants, were on the boat when it flipped Sunday.
The sheriff's office says high winds, rough waters and an overloaded boat were contributing factors to the incident.
The operator of the boat was cited for having too many people aboard the vessel and not having enough life jackets.
Sheriff's officials say none of the injuries were life-threatening.
