SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — A 72-foot-long sailboat has capsized in San Francisco Bay while practicing for the upcoming America's Cup, and the Coast Guard says the crew has been accounted for.
Coast Guard Lt. Jeannie Crump says the Artemis Racing catamaran carrying a Swedish flag capsized just after 1 p.m. Thursday near Treasure Island, the former naval station located in the bay.
Crump says the 12 people on board have been transferred to Coast Guard rescue boards. She did not know how many of them were tipped into the water or if any were injured.
