Question:
From the Ask Joe file a follow up tonight to a question we addressed last week about clean up efforts in Sun Valley.
Tom Gargus wrote asking what Washoe County is doing to enforce the nuisance code in Sun Valley ?

Answer:
I did get in touch with Bob Webb, planning manger for Washoe County.
Webb says code enforcement is complaint driven. So if they get a specific complaint they go out and investigate.   In the past year they've investigated 81 cases in sun valley and they say they have a 90 to 95 percent compliance rate.  That is they are able to get homeowners to clean up their yards on their own almost all of the time.
So what it comes down to is if you have a complaint, call the county's code enforcement number at 328-6106 and file a report. Give them the specific information so they can go out and take a look .

What is the law for having unregistered car there torn apart and do not run in your backyard at one time?

So if that's true, why do people move there to begin with? Go live in a "nicer" neighborhood. That's typical of this type of people-they move into a comfortable neighborhood, then start whining to the authorities about how everybody around them lives. That's like a woman marrying a longshoreman then complaining because he won't become a saint for her.

Why do they have to be called with a complaint? All they have to do is drive out there. The whole area is a trash heap.
