Mark C. wrote in saying he thinks the roundabout at Neil Road and Kietzke Lane is dangerous because drivers don't yield to other drivers and he wants to know what it would take to get police to take a closer look ?
I talked to Reno Police about this. Lieutenant Amy Newman with the traffic division says they did have a few accidents and issues with that roundabout when it first opened, but not too many recently.
If you have concerns about any intersection or roundabout the best thing to do is call Reno Direct at 334- INFO (3436).
Tell them what you're concerned about and city staff will write up a service request and send it to the traffic division at RPD.
Once they get a request they can send an officer out to observe and see if there really is a safety issue that needs to be addressed.
Sometimes just the officer's presence can be enough to remind drivers to slow down and yield to others on the road.
So call Reno Direct. Your concern or complaint will make into the right hands.
