D. Ames wrote in saying it has been months since the news of RPD's deputy chief being placed on paid administrative leave by Chief Pitts.  "D" wants to know is he still on leave, has he resigned or been fired ?

Deputy Chief Dave Evans was placed on paid administrative leave on August 12th of last year.  So its been almost seven months.
He continues to earn his full salary, which, according to the website TransparentNevada.Com was $182,000 plus benefits in 2011.
This was part of an ongoing internal affairs investigation into then Lt. Jim
Stegmaier.  Stegmaeir made some secret recordings which raised questions about Evans' involvement in the case and whether he acted inappropriately by alledgedly advising Stegmaier on how to handle his internal affairs interview after Stegmaier was accused of pointing his gun at other officers while on duty.
There's nothing new to report on this. The city says the case is still being investigated and the sheriff's office is still investigating Stegmaier for possible criminal charges.
Stegmaier retired from the force.  But again Evans continues to be paid --- nearly seven months after was sent home and placed on leave.
