From the Ask Joe file one of our viewers has a question about a local public service campaign.
Frank in Sparks wrote in asking why are the logos of the NHP, Carson City Sheriff's Department and Nrth Las Vegas Police Departments included on a campaign with attorneys Golightly and Vannah?
I checked with Sgt. Tim Bedwell with the North Las Vegas Police Department., who are also partners on the campaign down south.
Sgt. Bedwell says this a campaign law enforcement believes is very important, spreading the word about pedestrian safety as well as the dangers of drinking of driving.
Bedwell says without the support of the law firm, Golightly and Vannah, the police agencies could not afford to put together this kind of public service campaign, or the air time to help get the message across to viewers.
So he says it's not that they are endorsing the law firm, but that Golightly and Vannah is really supporting this public service campaign.
Is the law firm featured prominently in the ads ? Yes.
But the message law enforcement hopes to get across is safety on the roads.
I also received a statement from the law firm. They say they are proud to partner with law enforcement agencies in providing these valuable messages to our communities regarding public safety.
