SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) — Authorities say the cause of death has not yet been determined for a man awaiting trial on murder charges in the deaths of six people, including four homeless men.

Orange County Sheriff's Lt. Jeff Hallock says an autopsy was performed Monday on 25-year-old Itzcoatl Ocampo and that the cause of death is pending further investigation and toxicology tests that could take up to three months.

Authorities found the former Marine shaking and vomiting in his single-man cell Wednesday. He was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead the next day.

Ocampo's lawyer Michael Molfetta has said he was told his client apparently ingested cleaning product.

Ocampo was charged with stabbing to death four homeless men in Orange County in 2011 and 2012 and killing a school friend's mother and brother.
