Brooklyn, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Brook Lopez of the Brooklyn Nets has been diagnosed with a fractured fifth metatarsal of his right foot, and several sources are saying the center may be lost for the rest of the season.

The injury occurred during Friday's overtime loss to Philadelphia and is a reoccurrence of the same injury Lopez suffered during the 2011-12 season.

Lopez also had surgery after last season to replace a bent screw in the foot.

The Nets did not indicate how long Lopez would be sidelined, but the New York Daily News reported he will miss the rest of the season. He is scheduled to meet with team physicians in the near future to determine if that's the case.

In 17 games this season, Lopez has averaged a team-high 20.7 points and 6.0 rebounds while shooting 56.3 percent from the floor.

The Nets are 7-10 in the games the 7-footer has played and 2-7 without him in the lineup.
