Lake Forest, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Chicago Bears have named former UConn and Syracuse head coach Paul Pasqualoni as the team's defensive line coach.
Pasqualoni was fired at UConn in late September after the Huskies began his third season with an 0-4 mark. He was 10-18 during his tenure at UConn and had his most success on the collegiate level at Syracuse from 1991-2004 with a record of 107-59-1 and nine bowl berths in 14 years.
Chicago will mark his third stop in the NFL. Between his time at Syracuse and UConn, Pasqualoni served as an NFL assistant with the Dallas Cowboys from 2005-07 and again 2010 with a stint as the Miami Dolphins' defensive coordinator from 2008-09.
The Bears also named Reggie Herring as the team's new linebackers coach. Herring has 33 years of coaching experience, including eight coaching linebackers in the NFL. He was most recently the linebackers coach of the Houston Texans for the past three seasons.
