Fort Collins, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - Chane Behanan, who was kicked off Louisville's basketball team and then decided to transfer to Colorado State, has decided to forgo his final semester of eligibility and enter the NBA Draft.

"After a lot of thought, I have decided to put my name into the NBA draft and begin my professional career," said Behanan on Monday. "I want to thank Coach Eustachy and his staff for the opportunity to continue my college career at Colorado State, and for their support over the past five months. This was a very difficult decision, but after speaking with my family, Coach (John) Lucas, and Coach Eustachy I knew that I had their support to make what I felt was the best decision for me at this point in time."

Prior to his troubles, Behanan appeared in 12 games this past season for the Cardinals, and averaged 7.6 points with 6.3 rebounds. Behanan was a key contributor for the 2012-13 national championship team as a sophomore. He averaged 9.8 points and 6.5 rebounds that season and contributed a 15-point, 12-rebound effort in Louisville's 82-76 championship game win over Michigan.

Behanan enrolled at CSU back in January and was eligible to return to the court following the completion of the fall semester this coming season.

"I know that this is an incredibly difficult decision for a young man to make, having been through this in the past with guys like Marcus Fizer," said CSU head coach Larry Eustachy. "It is clear that Chane has all the tools necessary to be successful at the next level, and my staff and I fully support his choice to enter the draft."
