CARSON CITY, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- A body is found in the Carson River days after a man was reported missing and endangered.
The body found in the river hasn't been identified, but when 62-year-old William McCune of Carson City didn't show up for work on Thursday his coworkers called the sheriff's office, and when they responded they found a bloody crime scene.
"The interior of the apartment looked as if there had been a pretty violent struggle," said Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong.
Furlong said they immediately added McCune to the missing and endangered list and detectives got to work looking for him.
"That process continued relentlessly, virtually around the clock by detectives," Furlong said.
Two days later they've made four arrests.
"We haven't completed processing the crime scene and yet we have folks in custody at this point in time," Furlong said.
23-year-old Michael Paul Evans was arrested early this morning in Carson City and is facing charges including murder, battery, and burglary.
Three others were arrested in Las Vegas.
20-year-old Anthony Elliot is facing a murder charge, and 20-year-old Makyla Blackmore and 22-year-old Raul Garcia were arrested for burglary.
Furlong said a tip helped them narrow the search for McCune Friday.
"We attempted to search that area in the dark last night unsuccessfully," Furlong said. "We restarted the searches this morning."
Just after 8 a.m., members of the search and rescue team found a body in the Carson River just south of Carson River Road.
"We have not identified that body as of yet," Furlong said.
But Furlong said they believe the man they found in the river, dead and wrapped in a blanket, is McCune.
Furlong said it's a strange, complicated case.
"Ultimately we believe he has been found deceased and we have four attackers," Furlong said. "That is a little unusual."
The sheriff's office is still looking for m=McCune's truck. The license plates have already been recovered, so if you see a 2000 maroon Dodge pickup with no license plates - or have any other information about this crime - call the Carson City Sheriff's Office at 775-887-2500.
