ELKO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- KENV is reporting the body of an 86-year-old man has been found in the remains of his ranch house, destroyed in a fire last night.
According to Elko County Sheriff Jim Pitts, a preliminary investigation indicates Curtis F. Otto might have been dead before the fire broke out at the Red Rock Ranch. The property is about 40-miles southwest of Elko.
KENV reports that a neighbor saw flames early Friday morning, but fire trucks couldn't reach the ranch until a snowplow cleared the road.
Otto lived alone on the property and was said to be the owner of the ranch, according to KENV. The cause if the fire is under investigation.
KENV says the victim's remains will be sent to Reno for an autopsy.
