Milwaukee, WI ( - The Milwaukee Brewers brought back a familiar face on Friday, agreeing to terms with reliever Francisco Rodriguez on a one-year contract.

Rodriguez spent two-plus seasons in the Brewers' bullpen before being dealt to Baltimore prior to last year's trade deadline.

Over 48 combined games with the Brewers and Orioles, Rodriguez went 3-2 with a 2.70 earned run average and 10 saves.

The 32-year-old right-hander was once a premier closer, leading the AL in saves three times in a four-year span from 2005-2008, culminating in a 62-save season in 2008.

In all, Rodriguez has played 12 seasons in the majors, going 41-36 with a 2.70 ERA and 304 saves over 730 relief appearances with the Angels, Mets, Brewers and Orioles.

Also on Friday, Milwaukee designated pitcher Donovan Hand for assignment.
