CARSON CITY, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) - Carson City Animal Services is facing a possible lawsuit after euthanizing a woman's dog when she couldn't pay the fees to recover it from the pound. The shelter is taking fire from critics across Northern Nevada and the globe for the decision.

Officials say they are in the process of making policy changes to make sure this doesn't happen again.

Jeraldine Archuleta lost her dog, and couldn't pay the $100 fee to get it back within 72 hours. The dog became the property of animal services. City officials say the dog was ruled to be unadoptable because of medical issues and then was put down.

City Manager Larry Werner tells News 4 Attorney Cal Dunlap will be representing Archuleta in this lawsuit which is yet to officially be filed.

Carson City was voted "one of the most corrupt cities in America" per capita. No wonder, it is the Capitol of Nevada who was ranked on of the most corrupt State in the Union.

Carson City, the District Attorney and Sheriff are ripe for more lawsuits: ...the jury found that Defendant Carson City had a custom, policy, or practice that violated Plaintiff’s federal constitutional right not to be prosecuted without probable cause, and that Carson City has a “custom, policy, or practice to falsely imprison individuals.” David Q. WEBB, Plaintiff-Appellee-Cross-Appellant, v. Darrin SLOAN, Robert Guimont, Rod Banister, Defendants, and Carson City, Defendant-Appellant-Cross-Appellee, and Does 1-10 inclusive, Defendants.

So has she gotten her citation in the mail yet for an unlicensed dog? That would be about heir speed since they care more about money for their useless jobs, then actually helping people. When my puppy was poisoned last year by the neighbor across the street and witnessed, they did nothing but file the paperwork. Typical government employees.

Looks like Carson City is goinf to get hit with more lawsuits this week. The court cops called Department of Alternative Sentencing who run the probation department illegally put "pre trial" defendants on "probation" and charged them for "probation" fees and other fees. Additionaly, the DAS arrested numerious pre trial denfendants on various violations of their 4th amendment, DAS issues untold warrants, etc. No Carson City stands to go bankrupt with 100's and 1'000's of potential federal lawsuits for section 1983 violations. Ty Robben is filing suit and he explains his rights and how the county and State violated various laws, also see SB101 20013 on his website http://NevadaStatePersonnelWATCH.wordpress.com

Good for her, but the corrupt Carson City court will cover up the case and dismiss it. Try to move the case out of corrupt Carson City and there could be a chance.
