Police in Portland, Oregon, were dispatched after a chicken was reported crossing a highway in rush-hour traffic. In a statement, police said the chicken was causing a traffic hazard but they were unable to determine its location upon arrival. They also released an audio clip of the call, in which the caller says, "This is actually not a prank call." Officers add that animals in the roadway "are not laughing matter," and while they regularly tend to duck crossings, this was the first time they had received a call about a chicken crossing the road.
