Reno, (NV)
A student at Mendive Middle School is an all-around, amazing
young woman and this month News Four is honoring her with our Class Act Award
for the month of February.
Evening anchor Shelby Sheehan tracked down 8th grade honor
student Ivory Nguen Rok in class recently
to present the award to her.
Ivory is not only a 4 point 0 student, but was one of few selected from her school
to be a Rotary Leadership Representative.
She volunteers her time both with the Rotary program and at
her church trying to give back and make the community stronger.
Her principal at Mendive calls her a "student
extraordinare" but she says her focus is not just on her grades and artwork but others in her
community.
