LAS VEGAS (AP) — Authorities have identified a 34-year-old woman who was stabbed to death in a domestic violence-related crime spree that also led to the suspect's death.

Clark County coroner's officials Angela Tamayo-Espinoza died of multiple stab wounds after the Monday evening confrontation in a gated Las Vegas community.

Police say 40-year-old suspect Scott J. Brown crashed his vehicle into Tamayo-Espinoza's vehicle near Los Prados Circle and Los Prados Boulevard, then broke her car window and stabbed her multiple times before fleeing.

She died at University Medical Center.

Police say Brown then headed to North Las Vegas, where he attempted to break into a home and was shot dead by the owner.

Tamayo-Espinoza's coworker, Brenda Chavez, tells KVVU-TV the woman often spoke of a custody battle over one of her daughters.
