LAS VEGAS (AP) — Authorities have identified a 23-year-old woman who died after slamming into the back of a double-decker public bus that was dropping off passengers in Las Vegas.
Clark County coroner's officials say Julia Schultz of Las Vegas was pronounced dead Monday afternoon at University Medical Center. A cause of death has not been made public.
Police say the crash happened just before 2 p.m. on Charleston Boulevard east of Rainbow Boulevard, while a nearly full RTC Deuce bus was stopped at a bus stop. Officials say Schultz's 2004 Ford Focus struck the left rear of the vehicle.
Five bus passengers were taken to hospitals with injuries described as minor.
The crash marks the 14th traffic death in Las Vegas police jurisdiction this year.
