Phoenix, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - The Arizona Diamondbacks placed center fielder A.J. Pollock on the 15-day disabled list Sunday with a fractured right hand.

Later on Sunday, Arizona manager Kirk Gibson said that Pollock will have surgery on the hand sometime in the next few days. He could miss anywhere from five weeks to two months.

Pollock sustained the injury in the eighth inning of Saturday's game against the Cincinnati Reds when he was hit in the hand by a pitch from Johnny Cueto.

Pollock was batting .316 with six homers and 15 RBI through 52 games this season.

Arizona selected the contract of outfielder David Peralta from Double-A Mobile to fill the vacated roster spot. Peralta was hitting .297 with six homers and 46 RBI over 53 games with the BayBears this season.

The Diamondbacks also transferred pitcher Matt Reynolds from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day DL on Sunday.
